Former Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet, 31, has joined DStv Premiership outfit Cape Town City from cross town club Cape Umoya United.

Keet joins the citizens as the replacement for now departing Dutch goalkpeer Peter Leeuwenburgh, who joined the Dutch Eredivisie club FC Groningen having spent three seasons at Cape Town City.

Keet joins on a three year deal having spent six months in the lower division (Glad Africa Championship) after leaving Belgian outfit OH Leuven.

Cape Town City club chairman John Comitis confirmed in his recent press conference that his club have already completed two deals as part of next season's preparations.

"We've probably probably achieved two of the three [transfer] targets that we're chasing and one is still to come and that will will Kind of follow the next couple of weeks" Comitis said at a press conference.

Born in Cape Town, Keet previously played for the now-defunct Ajax Cape Town, Vasco de Gama, and Bidvest Wits. He has made 12 appearances for Bafana Bafana.

Cape Town City finished 7th in the most recent DStv Premiership season, earning 41 points from 29 matches.
